Self-love has become one of the most talked about and least practiced ideas in the healing world.

This isn’t because people don’t want it. They do, desperately. Instead, it’s because most self-love content asks you to affirm something you don’t yet feel, think positively about a self you don’t yet trust, and practice compassion toward parts of yourself you haven’t yet understood.

Real self-love doesn’t begin with affirmations. It begins with honest self-inquiry – with actually sitting down and looking at the places where love for yourself broke down, what caused it, and what it would take to genuinely rebuild it.

That is what this journal does.

The Self-Love Journal is the structured, honest, and deeply practical path to the self-love that doesn’t fade away, the kind that stays because it was built on something real.

Without genuine self-love, life tends to look like this:

❌ Giving endlessly to others while quietly running on empty, hoping someone notices

❌ Knowing intellectually that you’re worthy while feeling, in your body, that you are not

❌ Trying affirmations that feel like lies you’re telling yourself to get through the day

❌ Being your own harshest critic — holding yourself to standards you would never apply to anyone you love

❌ A persistent sense that you have to earn your place in your own life

Why Practice Self-Love?

Most self-love content treats the feeling as the goal. This journal treats it as the result.

Genuine self-love isn’t something you think your way into. Instead, it grows from honest self-inquiry, from understanding where and why love for yourself broke down, facing the specific beliefs and experiences that made you hard on yourself, and doing the actual work of rebuilding your relationship with yourself from the ground up.

This is why affirmations so often feel hollow and pointless: they’re asking you to feel something that deeper, unexamined beliefs are actively contradicting. For example, you say “I am worthy” while another part of you that has been saying “prove it” for decades quietly disagrees. The affirmation can’t win that argument because it isn’t engaging with this wounded part.

The Self-Love Journal engages with these wounded places within us.

It goes directly into the territory that most self-help carefully avoids — the self-criticism, the conditional worth, the parts of you you’ve been most ashamed of — and brings the honesty and structure that makes genuine change possible rather than just aspired to.

“Self-compassion is simply giving the same kindness to ourselves that we would give to others.” — Christopher Germer

We didn’t create this journal as people who had self-love figured out. We created it because we needed it ourselves — and couldn’t find anything honest enough to do this work with.

Most self-love treats the surface. This journal goes after the root.

⚠️ Read This Before Purchasing

The activities within this Self-Love Journal are not a collection of affirmations or gentle feel-good prompts.

This journal asks you to be honest about how you speak to yourself when nobody’s listening, the conditions under which you believe you deserve love, and about the specific wounds that made self-love feel dangerous or impossible in the first place.

If you’re looking for surface-level positivity or quick validation, this journal isn’t the right fit. If you’re ready to do the deeper, slower, more honest work of actually rebuilding your relationship with yourself – from the inside out, without performing it – this journal was made for you.

Why Do This Work?

The only way out is through.

01.

Understand why self-love keeps failing, and what to do instead

The journal doesn’t ask you to feel something before you’re ready. It takes you through the specific beliefs, patterns, and experiences that made genuine self-love difficult — and gives you a structured path through them. Understanding why you’re suffering is the first step to changing these patterns.

02.

Meet and befriend the parts of yourself you’ve been hardest on

The aspects of yourself you criticize most harshly are usually the ones that needed the most tenderness growing up. Through guided prompts, the journal helps you approach the most judged, shamed, or rejected parts of yourself with honesty and compassion rather than continued criticism.

03.

Build a relationship with yourself that doesn’t require anyone else’s approval

The goal isn’t to feel good about yourself all the time. It’s to become someone you actually trust – someone you can rely on, be honest with, and return to regardless of what anyone else thinks. This is what self-sovereignty feels like from the inside-out.

So much thought put into this work

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely love this self-love journal. I do a few prompts a day. I enjoy the mirror exercises. I mostly enjoy that this is a beautiful and effective way to heal my human and learn to fill my own cup before filling others. I also purchased the Inner Child and Dark Night of the Soul journals. I work on all 3, taking breaks whenever I feel the need. So much thought has been put into this work. I’m so grateful for your content. Blessing Luna & Sol!💜

Boy is it making a difference!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just started working through this journal about two weeks ago, and boy is it making a difference! It’s not easy work at all. I come from a traumatic childhood and so have been largely divorced from myself all these years. Some of the exercises at the beginning of the book I just couldn’t face yet – just too painful. But I’ve skipped around a bit to find parts of the book that are easier to “digest” for now and trust that the process will lead me to the point where I can delve into the more painful ones later. I love Luna and Sol’s resources and place this one at the top of the ones I’ve purchased to date!

I have been a giver to others my entire life but I did not give to myself

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reading the Self-Love Journal (I still have more to read and write) and doing a great deal of thinking, I have come to understand and accept the path I have chosen. I have been a giver to others for my entire life but I did not give to myself. I am tired and weary from all that giving. The Self Love Journal has helped me to give something to myself. Refreshed, I can now see that I need to forget the past I have left behind and embrace the future with hope, serenity, peace and joy…Self love has strengthened that pride and made my future a bit brighter. Thank you Luna and Sol.

Going through trauma therapy…this journey is exactly what I need

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m at the beginning of my spiritual journey and also going through trauma therapy so this journal is exactly what I need at the moment. Self-love isn’t an easy subject to tackle but the loving and encouraging guidance makes it so much easier to do this inner work. A lot of subjects are covered within the questions and it’s obvious just how much effort has been put into this. Thank you Luna and Sol, your website is so beneficial to me and is aiding me in transforming my life.

Self-compassion is not a way of judging ourselves positively, self-compassion is a way of relating to ourselves kindly-embracing ourselves as we are, flaws and all.” — Kristin Neff
